Martin Murín, Ph.D.

Martin Murín is an academic at the Department of Economics and Economic Policy. He is a graduate of the Economic Policy and Administration, National Economy programme at the Faculty of Economics, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. He completed his PhD in Economics at Masaryk University in Brno, where he defended his dissertation on the Impact of Public Debt on Economic Growth in 2020. His research focuses on public debt, fiscal policy, tax policy, economic growth, household debt and family policy. He is the author of several papers in refereed journals and conference papers indexed in Web of Science. He has participated in or led a number of research and development projects. He was a member of the Academic Senate and the Economic Committee of the Academic Senate of Masaryk University in Brno. He regularly participates in international workshops and summer schools at home and abroad. He considers himself an enthusiastic researcher who loves not only science and research, but also education and discussions about society, politics, political marketing, and current affairs.
