Natalie Uhrová, Ph.D.

Directress of the Institut of Lifelong Learning
Natalie Uhrová is the Directress of the Institute of Lifelong Learning and the Head of the Department of Social Sciences at the European Research University. She is a member of the Rector’s Collegium, a member of the Scientific Board and Chair of the Disciplinary Committee of the European Research University. She also serves as Vice-Chair of the Scientific Board of the PRIGO University College, which is the main organisational component of ERUNI. Natalie Uhrová is a member of the board of the Czech Economic Society branch of the European Research University and a member of the editorial board of the international scientific journal DANUBE, registered in the Scopus database and published jointly by the renowned publishing house de Gruyter and ERUNI. She graduated from the Master’s degree programme in National Economy at the Faculty of Economics of VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. She received her Ph.D. degree in the doctoral programme of Economic Theory at the same university. She worked at the Department of National Economy, Faculty of Economics, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, where she held the position of secretary. In the past, she was a director of grammar schools and secondary schools belonging to the PRIGO group. At ERUNI, she deals with employment policy, social policy and economic policy. She guarantees and teaches several courses in this field. She provides teaching in Czech as well as in English. In 2012-2014 she lectured at Hubei University of Technology in China. She has experience in supervising dozens of diploma and bachelor theses. She has extensive experience in organizing scientific conferences. As the director of the Institute of Lifelong Learning, she is in charge of organizing teaching in lifelong learning courses, especially in the field of Continuing Education of Teaching Personnel and in the implementation of the University of the Third Age. During her time in academia, she has also written a number of articles in the WoS and Scopus databases.
