Rudolf Macek, Ph.D., MBA

Rudolf Macek is a member of the Department of Economics and Economic Policy and a member of the Scientific Board of the European Research University. He studied National Economy at the Faculty of Economics, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, where in 2016 he successfully defended his dissertation on Labour Taxation and its Impact on Economic Growth and received his Ph.D. in Economics. During his doctoral studies, he was the chairman of the student chamber of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Economics of VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. He is currently the director of PRIGO College, one of the largest and most successful higher vocational schools in the Czech Republic. Rudolf Macek authorizes several articles indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. He has led or actively participated in several successful scientific research projects. His research interests include taxation, public finance, economic growth, and the construction and application of the World Tax Index, an alternative measure of tax burden.
