Assoc. Prof. Zuzana Machová, Ph.D.

Rector
Zuzana Machová is the Rector of the European Research University and a member of the Czech Rectors’ Conference. She works at the Department of Economics and Economic Policy at the ERUNI. She is the Vice-Chair of the Scientific Board of the ERUNI, Chair of the Internal Evaluation Board and a member of the Doctoral Board of the Doctoral Study Programmes. She is also the Chair of the Scientific Board of the PRIGO University College. At the European Research University, she is the guarantor of the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Economics and Management and the guarantor of the Master’s degree programmes in Managerial Economics. She is the editor-in-chief of the international scientific journal DANUBE, registered in the Scopus database, published jointly by the renowned publishing house de Gruyter and ERUNI. Zuzana Machová is the Vice-Chair of the PRIGO Strategic Board, the highest strategic body of the PRIGO Group, of which the European Research University is a part. She is an associate professor of Finance from the Faculty of Business and Economics at Mendel University in Brno. She completed her doctoral studies in Economics and her master’s studies in Economic Policy and Administration at the Faculty of Economics of VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. She completed her Master’s degree in Law and Legal Science at the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University. She has also worked or is currently working externally at the Faculty of Business and Economics of Mendel University in Brno, Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University. and Faculty of Economics of VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. She focuses on public finance, public sector and its management, project and financial management, tax optimization and management accounting. In the field of law, he focuses mainly on administrative and financial law and legal theory. She is or has been active not only in academia but also in the management of several companies specialising in project and financial management. In addition to her academic activities, she has also practiced law with an international element. She has published more than forty articles registered in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. She is the author or co-author of several monographs and university textbooks. She has been or is a researcher of scientific research projects funded by Czech Science Foundation, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, European Union, Hlávka Foundation, and many others. She is a member of the Scientific board of the Research Institute of Labour and Social Affairs in Prague and a member of the Doctoral Studies Board of Masaryk University. At this university she is also an external supervisor of doctoral students, which she involves in teaching and research activities. Currently, she is also an evaluator of the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education and the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education. She acts as an evaluator of the Research, Development and Innovation Council (RVVI) in the field of scientific excellence within the M1 module of the 2017+ Methodology. Zuzana Machová also regularly participates in international mobility and lecturing activities abroad.
