About European Research College (ERC).

The European Research College (ERC) is an independent institution within ERUNI, established as a centre for scholarly collaboration and innovation. It operates as a decentralised research network, comprising relatively autonomous centres based in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. While formally integrated into the ERUNI framework, each centre maintains academic independence in shaping its research priorities and activities.

As a vibrant research hub, the ERC brings together scholars at all stages of their academic careers — from early-career researchers and postdoctoral fellows to senior academics who offer mentorship and leadership in advancing rigorous, high-quality research.

European Research College London specialises in two principal areas: economics and business studies on the one hand, and psychological and educational sciences on the other.

European Research College Amsterdam undertakes research in legal theory, international law, commercial law, and related legal disciplines. A second area of focus encompasses political science and international relations.

Dedicated to academic excellence, the ERC organises workshops, lectures, and events aimed at developing essential academic competencies, including research management, scholarly writing, and research communication. These initiatives are designed to equip researchers with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of contemporary academia.

With its decentralised structure, independent governance, and international orientation, the ERC offers an intellectually stimulating environment for scholarly exchange, professional development, and innovative thought. We warmly invite researchers to engage, collaborate, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge within a community that upholds excellence, integrity, and innovation.
