Current open positions (2025).

We are now expanding our ERCs in London and Amsterdam and invite applications from motivated scholars—particularly those based in the United States—who wish to engage in comparative, interdisciplinary, and policy-relevant research. The open positions are research-only with no teaching duties. 

ERC London 

Full-time Junior Researcher – Psychological and Learning Sciences

  • Focus areas may include cognitive and behavioural aspects of decision-making, wellbeing, or education
  • The post is suitable for early-career scholars seeking to build a publication record and join collaborative European projects

Full-time Junior Researcher – Economics and Business 

  • Research may address economic transformation, institutional dynamics, or the comparative analysis of policy systems
  • Applicants should be eager to collaborate across disciplines, linking economic research with law, politics, and other sciences within ERUNI’s international network

Part-time Senior Researchers – Economics and Business, Psychological and Learning Sciences

  • Designed for established academics wishing to supervise doctoral work, lead smaller research initiatives, and shape the College’s academic profile

ERC Amsterdam 

Full-time Junior Researchers – Law, Political Science, and International Relations

  • Topics may include global governance, international law, political institutions, and European integration
  • The positions allow for significant autonomy in research design and publication strategy

Part-time Senior Researchers – Law, Political Science, and International Relations 

  • Intended for experienced scholars who wish to mentor, co-lead research lines, and develop new international grant proposals

Application information.

Applications should include: 

  • A short letter of motivation indicating your research field and interest
  • 1–3 representative publications (published papers, working papers, or forthcoming articles)
  • A professional CV including a list of publications (APA style with DOIs where possible)
  • A proposed research plan outlining your intended programme of work (max. 2–3 pages)
