prof. Ing. Šárka Laboutková, Ph.D.

Šárka Laboutková is the Dean of the Faculty of Advanced Studies and Research in Prague. She is a member of the Doctoral Board and the Scientific Board of the European Research University. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the Prague University of Economics and Business, specialising in Economic Policy. She completed her doctoral studies in the same field and habilitated in Economics in 2012. In 2023, she was appointed as a full professor of economics. Prof. Laboutková has extensive experience as a lecturer and researcher at both public and private universities. From 2014 to 2023, she supervised the Master's degree programme in Economic Policy/Economic Policy in the Global Environment. Currently, she is a part-time professor of economics at the Faculty of Business Administration at the Prague University of Economics and Business, where she lectures on intermediate macroeconomics in the Master's degree programmes and a specialised course on responsible lobbying. As a researcher, she has been involved in numerous scientific research projects funded by the Czech Science Foundation, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Hlávka Foundation, and other organisations. She has served both as a member of research teams and as a principal investigator. She has received several awards for her publications. Her research interests include new institutional economics, good governance, the quality of institutions, transparent lobbying, and corruption. Due to her systematic work and deep knowledge of these subjects, she is part of an internationally recognised group of scholars conducting cutting-edge research on lobbying regulation. In 2019, prof. Laboutková was invited to collaborate with Québec Laval University on a research project focused on best practices in the oversight of lobbying activities. In 2021, she was approached by a leading expert from Queen's University Belfast to present her academic profile and perspectives on transparency and lobbying regulation on a dedicated website. Additionally, she was invited by the European Consortium for Political Research to lecture on these topics at the International Summer School for PhD Students. Currently, she is also an evaluator of the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education and member of the Standing Committee on Evaluation Methodology for the field of education in economics. She is also a member of several scientific boards at different universities.
