Jan Fidrmuc, MA, PhD
Jan Fidrmuc is a researcher and an external member of the Faculty of Economics of the European Research University. He received his PhD degree from the Centre for Economic Research (CentER) at Tilburg University in the Netherlands in 1999. He is a recipient of the Accueil de talents 2020 research grant at Lille Économie Management (LEM), Université de Lille, where he is also based. He is also an external advisor to the Institute for Strategy and Analysis (ISA) at the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic. Previously, he worked at the Centre for European Integration Studies (ZEI) at the University of Bonn, Trinity College Dublin and at the European Centre for Advanced Research in Economics and Statistics (ECARES) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and Brunel University London. Jan Fidrmuc's research interests include political economy, economic development, institutional economics and labour economics. He also teaches or supervises several courses in this field at the European Research University. He has published his research in leading European and international peer-reviewed journals such as the European Economic Review, European Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Common Market Studies, Electoral Studies, World Development and Journal of International Money and Finance.
