Assoc. Prof. Robin Maialeh, PhD
doc. Ing. Robin Maialeh, Ph.D., LL.M.
Robin Maialeh is an associate professor at the European Research University. He is based at the Faculty of Advanced Studies and Research in Prague, where he conducts original and independent research at an international level of excellence, participates in the formulation and implementation of strategic goals in research and education, and is also responsible for overseeing methodological quality, professional integrity, and ethical framework of research in the fields of economic policy and political economy. He is an economist and social scientist, he holds a PhD in economics and economic policy from the University of Economics in Prague. He has held visiting positions at Princeton University, the Bern University of Applied Sciences, and the University of California, Berkeley. He has taught economic theory at several universities, including the Prague University of Economics and Business, the Czech Technical University in Prague, and currently the UCT School of Business. He also served as Vice-Rector of Unicorn University. From 2021 to 2024, he held the position of Director of the Research Institute for Labour and Social Affairs (RILSA). Since 2023, he has been working as the Czech Republic’s representative (National Liaison Official) to the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research at the United Nations Office in Vienna.
In his academic work, Robin Maialeh focuses primarily on economic policy, political economy, critical theory, and the methodology of science. He has published several scholarly books and articles concentrating mainly on divergent development trends, employing methodological approaches that span a wide range of fields from philosophy to mathematical modelling.
