Karel Paiger serves as Senior Research Officer at the European Research University (ERUNI), where he is responsible for the strategic management and development of the university’s research activities. His expertise covers research management, grant development, innovation support, and the long-term growth of research organisations.
He spent the core of his professional career at the Aerospace Research and Test Establishment (VZLU), where he held a number of managerial and leadership positions focused on research and development. Through these roles, he gained extensive experience in the strategic development of research institutions, research infrastructure, and innovation ecosystems.
Throughout his career, Mr Paiger has specialised in national and European research funding programmes, research performance management, and technology transfer. He has participated in numerous projects funded by the European Union and has substantial experience in the preparation, coordination, and administration of large-scale research initiatives.
He also worked at the Technology Centre Prague, the Czech National Contact Point for EU Framework Programmes, where he further strengthened his expertise in European research policy and international research collaboration. In addition, he has served as a member of several national and international expert groups and professional associations in the field of aerospace research and innovation.
