Ing. Petr Skalka, Ph.D.
Petr Skalka is a member of the Faculty of Economics of the European Research University. He holds a Master’s degree in National Economy from the Faculty of Economics, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, where he also completed his PhD in Economics. His dissertation dealt with the foreign trade of the Czech Republic in the context of EU membership. Since 2001 he has been working in the field of insurance and banking. His publications focus on EU, corporate economics, finance and insurance. He is also co-author of the textbook Economic and Social Policy, where his main focus is on the EU. He and teaches several courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels at the European Research University. He has also published in well-ranked journals listed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. He regularly participates in international scientific conferences on Economic and Social Policy.
