Prof. JUDr. Pavel Šturma, DrSc.

Pavel Šturma is a professor at the European Research University. He studied Law, Economics, and Philosophy. His academic specialisation includes public international law, international economic law, and international relations. He has worked at the Faculty of Law of Charles University and at the Czech Academy of Sciences, and has undertaken numerous research stays abroad, including at the Council of Europe and the United Nations Secretariat. He has also served as a visiting professor at a number of European universities. He was nominated by the Czech Republic as a candidate for membership of the International Law Commission for the 2012–2016 term and was elected in November 2011 by the United Nations General Assembly in New York. At the European Research University, he teaches courses primarily in the fields of international law and European Union law.
