Ing. Rudolf Macek, Ph.D., MBA
Rudolf Macek is a deputy vice-rector and a member of the Scientific Board of the European Research University. Within his remit, he holds institutional responsibility for the European College, one of the largest and most successful higher vocational schools in the Czech Republic. He studied National Economy at the Faculty of Economics, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, where in 2016 he successfully defended his dissertation on Labour Taxation and its Impact on Economic Growth and received his PhD in Economics. During his doctoral studies, he was the chairman of the student chamber of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Economics of VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. Rudolf Macek authorises several articles indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. He has led or actively participated in several successful scientific research projects. His research interests include taxation, public finance, economic growth, and the construction and application of the World Tax Index, an alternative measure of tax burden.
