University Academic Research Grammar School.
ERUNI delivers its own School Educational Programme entitled “University Academic Research Grammar School”, developed in accordance with the national Framework Educational Programme for Grammar Schools (RVP G). The programme reflects a modern approach to general secondary education, connecting school-based learning with the principles of an academic, research-oriented, and university environment.
At its core lies a simple philosophy: to preserve and cultivate students’ natural curiosity, their desire to think, create, and explore. We aim to ensure that students do not lose the joy of learning, and that education is not merely a path to performance, but above all a means of understanding the world, themselves, and others. We believe that true education arises from curiosity, critical thinking, and intrinsic motivation—not from obligation or fear of failure.
The programme is built on the individualisation of each student’s educational journey. Students are encouraged to develop their strengths, discover the areas in which they excel, and build the competencies required for both academic and personal growth. Our aim is not to produce a uniform knowledge profile, but to create space for talent, creativity, and a responsible approach to one’s own learning.
In line with the national framework, the programme provides a comprehensive general education across all key subject areas. It develops the core competencies defined at national level—learning, communication, social and civic responsibility, work-related skills, and problem-solving. These foundations are further enriched by academic and research competencies, fostering the ability to ask questions, analyse, experiment, and form independent conclusions.
A distinctive feature of the programme is its strong emphasis on project-based and inquiry-based learning. Students are guided to explore patterns, identify connections, and formulate their own insights. Teaching is based on active engagement, discussion, collaboration, and the integration of theory with practice. Through seminars, workshops, and projects developed in cooperation with the academic environment of the European Research University, students gain first-hand experience of university-level work and develop the skills required for higher education.
An important dimension of the programme is its linguistic and international orientation. The school places strong emphasis on achieving a high level of English proficiency, as well as on the ability to communicate and present one’s work in a foreign language. Selected subjects are therefore gradually introduced in English, supporting not only language development but also students’ cultural awareness and openness to the wider world.
The programme also places considerable emphasis on the development of soft skills, including collaboration, self-reflection, empathy, and leadership. Students are encouraged to view education as a personal journey and a tool for the development of their character, rather than merely a means of achieving results.
Graduates of the “University Academic Research Grammar School” programme are independent thinkers—creative, responsible, and able to navigate the complexities of the modern world. They are equipped to learn effectively, construct arguments, analyse, and critically evaluate information. Fully prepared for further study at universities in the Czech Republic and abroad, they retain what matters most: curiosity, creativity, and a genuine joy in learning—the very essence of education.
