Economic Policy.
The International Scientific Conference on Economic Policy (ISCEP) is a flagship academic event regularly organised by the European Research University, hosted annually on its institutional platform. The conference represents one of the most established scholarly gatherings in Central Europe, uniting a diverse academic community particularly in the fields of economic and social policy, as well as in law, political science, and international relations.
Rooted in a long-standing tradition, the conference builds upon the intellectual legacy of the Czech School of Economic Policy, shaped by influential figures such as Christiana Kliková and Milan Žák. It serves as a forum for critical discussion and knowledge exchange among researchers from the Czech Republic and abroad, especially within the Central European region.
Each year, the conference addresses a broad range of topical issues, including:
- Economic Policy and Sustainability
- Legal Aspects of Economic Policy
- The Role of the State in the Economy
- Growth Policy
- Labour Market and Social Policy
- Fiscal Policy and Public Finance
- Monetary Policy and Financial Markets
- European Industrial Strategy
- European Integration and International Relations
- Managerial Economics
The 2025 edition will take place from 9 to 11 September at the Beltine Forest Hotel. This prestigious gathering continues to provide a space for rigorous academic debate and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The quality of the conference is safeguarded by its international Scientific and Organising Committee. Selected contributions undergo peer review and are considered for publication in DANUBE, a journal indexed in SCOPUS, ERIH PLUS, EconLit, EBSCO, ProQuest, and other internationally recognised databases. Several volumes of the conference proceedings are indexed in the Web of Science, and the 2024 edition is currently under review.
Over the years, keynote speakers have included Charles Nolan (University of Glasgow, UK), Hans Wiesmeth (Technical University of Dresden, Germany), Max Gillman (University of Missouri, USA), as well as Jiří Rusnok and Aleš Michl (Governors of the Czech National Bank), Václav Klaus (former President of the Czech Republic), Tomáš Sedláček, and Jan Švejnar, among many others.
As the European Research University’s leading academic event, this conference plays a vital role in advancing economic and social policy discourse and fostering collaboration within the Central European academic community.

Junior section.
An opportunity for emerging researchers
As part of its commitment to academic development and intellectual exchange, the conference offers a dedicated Junior Section designed specifically for PhD students and early-career researchers. This section provides a supportive and collegial environment where emerging scholars can present their work at an early stage of development. Rather than traditional Q&A formats, presentations in the Junior Section are followed by constructive feedback and mentoring-style recommendations, aimed at helping young academics shape the future direction of their research. Participants are encouraged to engage with generosity, openness, and academic kindness – key values that define this unique part of the conference. The Junior Section is especially suited to those in the initial stages of their academic careers, offering them a valuable first experience in scholarly presentation and peer dialogue. If you wish to take part in this section, please indicate your interest during the registration process.

Scientific Committee.
The Scientific Committee is responsible for ensuring the academic quality and integrity of the conference. Its members oversee the selection of contributions, the peer review process, and the structure of the academic programme. Through their expertise, the committee guarantees that the conference maintains its high scholarly standards and continues to serve as a respected platform for academic dialogue.
